Gamification and how it benefits college organizations

As a soon-to-be graduate, I’ve done a lot in my four years at college. I’ve joined organizations, played on sports teams, and even created clubs. I wanted my college career to have an impact on the school after I left. Being a Vice President and co-founder of a club, I’ve found successes and failures as well.

One thing I’ve found to be very beneficial is getting people together by hosting an event. I came up with some ideas and tried each of them out. Each brought new people and new visions as well. The only issue I found was promoting the event around campus for the student body. The question I kept asking is what can I do about this. I looked at Google events and other event platform services, but nothing seemed to work out in my favor or in the student's favor.

As I attempted to better my clubs, I also was on the search for internships. That’s when I found what I was looking for: KemNu. The process is as easy as posting a hangout — private or public, virtual or in-person — on the application. An event posting holds the details of the event while also showing who will be attending the event. On top of that, attendees will receive KemNu coins that they can cash in for discounts and perks at local businesses; this is how KemNu has gamified on-campus student activity.

One of the things I’ve found that works is free. College students flock to anything that is free. Social media giveaways normally spike followers, comments, and likes. I used to show up to anything my dorm was hosting that I could get something out of it. They hosted an event where we played cornhole and the winner would get a 60 dollar gift card to Walmart. KemNu creates a similar effect by providing discounts and deals for attending events.

Hosting events to bring in more potential members is very beneficial for new or even established organizations/clubs. Providing freebies at these events is even more beneficial because it keeps people coming. But let’s be real. You can’t provide your members with pizza every meeting. You just don’t have the budget. That’s where you can leverage KemNu. There is always a perk for attending.

If you are struggling to host events and maintain membership, download the free app KemNu. I can say with confiendence it's highly worth it and it’s not like it's charging you anyways.
